The death of avian life is perhaps one of the most common arguments against wind farms. The idea that wind turbines kill birds started originally from the large rate of bird deaths, around 4,700 annually, at the wind farm in Altamont, CA

New technology has created wind turbines that use larger blades and move at much slower speeds, which allows birds to avoid the blades altogether.  In fact, there are more bird deaths caused by birds flying into windows than killed by wind turbines. 

Of course, even without the bird deaths, one of the major issues many take with wind energy is their appearance. Tall, unwieldy and ugly, many communities simply find the turbines unseemly and would rather not have them built. 

There is a solution for both problems. The Helix Wind Savonious 2.0, main offices located in San Deigo, is a "2kW rated turbine that can be tower-mounted between 14 and 35 feet or roof mounted just 2 feet above roof line. The rotor measures 6ft by 4ft (1.8m by 1.2m) and utilizes long helical blade scoops to maximize energy performance in turbulent, gusty or multi-directional wind conditions" 

Not only is this new wind turbine much smaller than traditional ones, it also moves at a much slower speed, so both birds and bats recognize the rotor as a solid object. And compared to other wind turbines, the Helix is also operates at less than 5 decibels above background noise These turbines can also be used for various uses from home to industrial.

As we advance our technology, we also advance our alternative energy sources. The major complaints of ten years ago are a thing of the past as scientists and designers find out new ways to make green energy safer, prettier and more efficient.

The electricity operates all the appliances in the home and also charges the battery.

Iran Lost A Battle On The High Seas --- Shipment Proves Iran's Support For Terror Organizations --- And Brazen Disregard of UN Resolutions

Hundreds of tons of weaponry, the largest arms seizure in Israel's history, were intercepted in a daring raid by Israeli naval commandos.

Francop, a German cargo ship flying Antiguan flag with a Captain of Polish origin passed Israel some 100 miles off the coast.

Israel Commandos in two navy vessels boarded without encountering resistance.

The Captain readily gave the cargo certificates, which indicated that some of the hundreds of containers on board had originated in Iran and were on their way to the Lattakia Port in Syria.

Israel believes they would have been unloaded and then transferred to Hizbullah.

The total shipment was estimated to weigh over 500 tons and included thousands of rockets and shells of various types, including 122 mm. Russian-made Katyushas, which have a range of some 30 kilometers.

The ship's crew were unaware of the weapons on board, as the armaments were disguised as humanitarian aid. Some of the other containers contained toilets, milk powder and piles of sacks - each weighing 25 kilograms - filled with polyethylene and made by the Amir Kabir National Petrochemical Company based in Teheran.

Brig.- Gen. Rani Ben-Yehuda, deputy commander of the Israel Navy said, '' This is the third time this year that Iran has disregarded international law and United Nations Security Council resolutions that forbid it to transfer weaponry''.

The navy, he said, regularly conducted operations hundreds of miles from Israel's shores to inspect ships suspected of carrying illegal weapons from Iran to terror proxies like Hizbullah and Hamas.

He added that even though the Iranian containers were loaded at port of Damietta in Egypt, the Egyptians were totally unaware of the ship's contents.

This type of blatant disregard for decency in diplomacy and UN resolutions could be expected from, yet another,  ''Election Stealing'' President of Iran.

What else can one expect from a pig other than a grunt.

The UN's torture investigator, Manfred Nowak, has made an angry return to South Africa after being refused entry to Zimbabwe

Manfred Nowak was detained by officials in Harare who said he had no clearance to visit.

Though Manfred Nowak had an official invitation from the prime minister.

Manfred Nowak blamed his treatment on the divisions within the unity government.

Nation cannot invite a special investigator --- and somebody gives an order to the immigration police not to let him in,

Manfred Nowak said his treatment showed clearly parts of the government did not want him to assess "the current conditions of torture". 

The trouble comes as the IMF announced that the unity government's "improved policies" were benefitting the economy.

"I have never in any other country been treated in such a manner," Mr Nowak, who had planned a week-long fact-finding mission.

Zimbabwe School Teachers Not Paid Their Salaries Since February and They Fear ZANU-PF Thugs Who Murdered MDC Supporters Last Election Days

One of Zimbabwe's many unqualified teachers talks about her fears   

Teachers remain suspects in the eyes of these war veterans and youths intimidation from a local Zanu-PF official is the prime suspect in the violence which gripped the area last year.

They move around with Zanu-PF party regalia, forcing us all to remain with them like captives.

One MDC supporter was brutally murdered by the gang he led, but the suspects have impunity because they are supporters of Zanu-PF.

We all froze as he spoke, as this was the man who had tormented village folks in the disputed elections.

My class has 54 pupils instead of the required 38 or 40 because of a high turnout of pupils this year - hunger and politics disturbed them last year.

I have survived without a salary since February because my family send me groceries. Groceries worth US$40 can last me the whole month.

I hope that sanity may prevail and with a new constitution there will be rule of law and those who committed crimes will be arrested.

I may go back because I want to be working and I have the passion to teach children in remote parts of the country.

I hope I will leave my own mark for a future generation.

Robert Mugabe, the Election Stealing President of Zimbabwe

Zimbabwean Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai has called off his party's boycott of the unity government with President Robert Mugabe.

Mr Tsvangirai said he was giving Mr Mugabe 30 days to implement the power-sharing agreement on "the pertinent issues we are concerned about".

Mr Tsvangirai and his Movement for Democratic Change party boycotted the government on 16 October.

The next Zimbabwe cabinet meeting is on Tuesday, and the MDC spokesman, Nelson Chamisa, said his party's ministers would attend.

Mr Tsvangirai walked out of a coalition government in protest at the detention of a senior MDC aide, Roy Bennett,  on terrorism charges  He was later released on bail.

 

Mr Mugabe's failure to implement political agreements.

The MDC also said there had been "increased violent" attacks on party members by militants from President Mugabe's Zanu-PF.

Robert Mugabe,  the Election Stealing President of Zimbabwe,  had his ''Honorary Doctor'' plucked off him owing to his violence and murderous activities.

A semblance of progress and children were eating two meals a day, instead of ''one'' when  Mr Tsvangirai reluctantly joined the government.

But the brazen liar, President Mugabe, reneged on every single point of agreement.

Mugabe and his Cabinet of Ministers of his Zanu-PF party and his Army Commander should be tried as Human Rights Violators.

Sri Lankan Boat People and Asylum Seekers

In recent times the Sri Lankan Govt defeated the ruthless Tamil Tigers.
Almost all of the leaders of the terrorist group were killed in battle.
Tamil Tigers from Leader to Lowest Cadre carry cyanide capsule around their neck.
Tamil Tigers bite the capsule and kill themselves when about to fall into hands of enemy.
''Tamil Tigers never surrender'',  said their remorseless leader Pirabaharan.

Sri Lankan Govt was helped by 19 countries to defeat the Tamil Tigers.

Therefore, the Australian govt is wary of the Sri Lankan ''Boat People'' trying to enter Australia illegally on the sly.  

Australian Government is well aware of the remnants and dregs of Tamil Tigers that staged violent demonstrations and threw acid on faces of two students.
And a Tamil Radio Broadcast that spews vitriolic racial comments on the Tamils who seek unity with their Lankan Sinhalese counterparts.

At the same time,  Australian Govt is conscious of ''International Opinion''.   Boat People cannot be shoved back into the sea,  inhumanely,  just as Thailand did a few weeks back.

Australia is a multi-racial country.   A few drunken goons and paid thugs have assaulted a few Indians in the recent past and earned a bad name for Australia.

Generally the Australians are a hard working,  generous and jovial people.   Almost all get along well with everyone without racial prejudices.

However,  some fanatical racial and religious groups have caused social problems.

We wish to suggest to the Australian Government that each person that enters this land should be guided to acclimatise racially and religiously and join the mainstream.
In that,  they should learn English and never ever disturb the peace of the main society.

In the event the ''Boat People''  do not co-operate,  the Australian Government should politely return them home.

Dick Cheney and his Halliburton Records

Following the end of Operation Desert Storm in February 1991, the Pentagon, led by then Defense Secretary Dick Cheney, paid Halliburton subsidiary Brown & Root Services over $8.5 million to study the use of private military forces with American soldiers in combat zones.

Halliburton is the only company mentioned by Osama bin Laden in an April 2004 tape

in which he claims that "this is a war [in Afghanistan] that is benefiting major companies with billions of dollars

a civil servant with 20 years of contracting experience, had complained to Army officials on numerous occasions that Halliburton had been unlawfully receiving special treatment for work in Iraq, Kuwait and the Balkans. Criminal investigations were opened by the U.S. Justice Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Pentagon's inspector general.

In one of the many examples of abuse, Greenhouse said that military auditors caught Halliburton overcharging the Pentagon for fuel deliveries into Iraq.

Bunnatine Greenhouse also complained that Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld's office took control of every aspect of Halliburton's $7 billion Iraqi oil/infrastructure contract.

After her testimony, Greenhouse was demoted, allegedly for poor performance.

Greenhouse had received excellent performance ratings in the past. Greenhouse's attorney, Michael Kohn, stated in the New York Times that "she is being demoted because of her strict adherence to procurement requirements and the Army's preference to sidestep them when it suits their needs." Lt. Gen. Carl A. Strock asserted the contrary.

Bunnatine (Bunny) H. Greenhouse is a former chief contracting officer of the United States Army Corps of Engineers.
On June 27, 2005, she testified to a Democratic Party public committee, alleging specific instances of waste, fraud, and other abuses and irregularities by Halliburton with regard to its operations in Iraq since the Iraq War.
She described one of the Halliburton contracts (secret, no-bid contracts awarded to Kellogg, Brown and Root (KBR)—a subsidiary of Halliburton) as "the most blatant and improper contract abuse I have witnessed during the course of my professional career."

Given these facts will any sane and impartial person say Dick Cheney is NOT  a Cheat and a Liar.
