2DollarHelp -- For Circulatiion Among Friends Only for 7 Widow-Headed Families

A 30 odd year civil war ended in Sri Lanka --

Left 1000s of extremely needy widows & families --

We have selected only seven families to suit our limited capacity -- 

'' 2  Dollar  Help ''

Dear Reader Friend,

Ours is NOT a government registered organization -- 
In fact,  this is NOT an organization at all.

We are a group of sympathisers of the needy  --

A son of one of us is funding from Norway --  Tonsberg  Children's  Home  --
It provides a meal for the hungry,  clothes and little education for the War victims to raise their heads in life --
It operates In Vavuniya,  separately from us,  in the war torn region of Sri Lanka.

Daily needs of the poor could be met only when individuals are identified and targeted.

For example we found a child of ten or eleven absent from school for a whole week.

Her mother explained --  Charminy has only two frocks to wear to school --  We wash clothes without soap  -- We cannot afford to buy soap -- Both frocks are now off-white-brown in colour --
And it took us a week to collect money to buy a cake of soap

That's abject poverty in midst of war victims

We can and we should  raise funds among friends to meet their  daily needs .

Our 'aid',  donated by kind hearts,  is passed on to the few known families,  instantly and directly.

We know of many families that live on food parcels.

They do not have the means to cook their own food at home.

The essential ingredients are priced well beyond their means

And therefore the children are under fed.

How could a child learn lessons on an empty stomach ?
We all know it,  but only some of us are conscious of it !

We are cautioned about handling money   --  As in some ''help needy'' projects,  money is swindled.

Hence we decided to limit accepting contributions to a maximum of ''two dollars'' per month,  per person.

And call our group  --   '' 2 Dollar Help''.

By chance,  if you are moved to be magnanimous towards less fortunate ones --

To help us  --   help these unfortunate few families -  seven in all today  --
